A weekend of venison and foraging at Knockranny House Hotel & Spa 15th & 16th October 2021
As the leaves turn golden this autumn, Knockranny House Hotel & Spa celebrate the turning of the seasons with their Foraging Weekend on 15th and 16th October with a focus on local autumnal produce foraged from the hotel’s luscious surroundings.
With check-in for guests on Friday evening, the Foraging Weekend will begin on Saturday morning with a guided foraging session in the local Knockranny Woods and Old Head Woods. Led by Will Williams from Walk on the Wildside, guests will see how and where mushrooms grow in their natural habitat, learning identification techniques and points to watch out for when collecting them. Later that afternoon, guests will pick and cook the foraged bounty outdoors over a campfire to sample the flavours of this wild crop.
Returning to the hotel, participants will enjoy a glass of wine and a fascinating mini cooking demonstration and tasting with chef Seamus Commons.
On Saturday evening, guests can look forward to the highlight of the weekend, an evening meal from chef Seamus Commons with a focus on the finest game from his trusted suppliers, including venison, mushrooms and a host of other autumnal ingredients.
The Venison & Foraging Weekend at Knockranny House Hotel includes
