We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Director of Sales& Marketing to lead the commercial strategy and performance of our hotel group. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued growth of a respected hospitality organisation, working closely with our Board of Directors, member properties, and industry partners.

Established over 40 years ago, Original Irish Hotels , Irelands represents over 50 of Irelands finest Independent Hotels, historic castles, charming manor houses and cosmopolitan urban hotels.


About the Role

As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, market share, and commercial success across the group. You will lead the development and execution of innovative sales, marketing strategies while representing the organisation both nationally and internationally.

This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic direction, strengthen stakeholder relationships and champion Ireland as a premier tourism destination as well as growing the domestic brand. This role is based at the companies' Sandyford Office, Dublin 18.


Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall revenue, rooms, and commercial performance of the organisation.

- Develop and execute integrated sales and marketing strategies across all market segments.

- Prepare and implement annual sales and marketing plans in partnership with Board members and key stakeholders.

- Drive revenue growth and market share through data-driven insights and commercial decision-making.

- Build strong relationships with member properties, industry partners, and other stakeholders both in Ireland and overseas.

- Support the strategic onboarding of new members in collaboration with membership services.

- Identify and develop opportunities within international leisure tourism markets to increase business and brand visibility.

- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activity to inform future strategy.

- Lead, inspire, coach, and develop high-performing Sales, Marketing, and Revenue teams.

- Represent the organisation at national and international travel trade events, exhibitions, and industry forums.

- Conduct sales calls and business development meetings with trade partners in Ireland and overseas.

- Maintain a detailed understanding of member properties and their unique selling points.

- Plan and coordinate bi-annual member meetings, including speaker engagement and event delivery.

- Present sales, marketing, revenue results, activities, and future plans to members of the Board.

- Provide monthly commercial performance and activity reports to the Board of Directors.

- Collaborate with the Board of Directors and senior management team to shape and deliver the organisation's long-term strategic vision.

- Oversee recruitment and talent development across the Sales, Marketing, and Revenue functions.

- Reporting to the Chairman and Board of Directors.

About You

You are a strategic thinker, inspirational leader, and proven commercial professional who thrives on creating growth opportunities and delivering measurable results.

You will bring:


- A minimum of 10 years' senior-level experience in sales and marketing leadership, ideally within hospitality, hotels, tourism, or travel sectors.

- A proven track record of exceeding commercial targets and delivering sustainable business growth.

- Strong experience in revenue management, business development, and online marketing.

- Exceptional leadership skills with experience building, motivating, and developing successful teams.

- Experience of leading change with an innovative mindset for developing business while embracing technological advancement.

- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.

- Confidence presenting to senior leadership teams, boards, and industry audiences.

- A passion for the tourism and hospitality industry with a strong understanding of international travel markets.

- An entrepreneurial mindset combined with strong analytical and strategic planning skills.

- Significant overseas travel is required with this role.
