With Mother's Day coming up, why not treat an amazing Mum in your life to Afternoon Tea at Home. Lough Inagh Lodge have shared their simple recipe for homemade scones to get you started, add these to a tray along with some of Mum's favourite treats and Voila, a simple yet thoughtful way to celebrate Mother's Day this year.

Homemade Fruit Scones - Makes 20 scones

Ingredients

1 lb white flour
5 oz butter
½ pint milk
2 tsp baking powder
3 oz caster sugar
3 oz sultanas
2 eggs Extra
egg for brushing

Method

Sieve flour and baking powder together. Melt the butter, milk, sugar and eggs and pour into the flour and fruit mixture. Mix until all ingredients are combined. Turn out onto floured board and knead gently. Then roll out till about ¾ inch thick. Cut out with round cutter, then place onto a floured baking tray. Whip an egg with a fork and brush onto the tops of the scones. Place in the moderately hot oven for 15- 20 mins. Once cooked put on a wire rack to cool. Serve with some home made jam and butter.

These would sit perfectly on a breakfast tray on Mother's day, but you will need to start preparing midweek if you want to have them for the weekend as this recipe requires 3 days to make.

1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
1/4 Ripe Avocado
2 Drops of Lavender Oil

This delicious sounding facemask delivers deep hydration from the coconut oit, gives your skin a hit of antioxidants with Honey and soothes redness with the lavender oil.

Mix it up and paint it on with a facemask brush for the ultimate at home spa experience.
