Cabra Castle has been named the Top 4 Star Hotel in Ireland at the 28th CIE Tours International annual awards held at the National Gallery of Ireland on February 5.

The winners of these awards are chosen from an independent evaluation of the feedback given directly by over 30,000 CIE Tours customers on their experiences in 2017.

The CIE Tours awards are presented to those who achieve a customer satisfaction rating in excess of 90%.

“We are incredibly proud to win a Gold Award and be voted Ireland’s top 4* star hotel,” said Howard Corscadden, Managing Director. “The CIE Tour Awards are eagerly awaited each year by the hospitality industry as they are based on real feedback from guests over the past year.

“This Gold Award comes the same week that we celebrated our 5000th wedding at Cabra Castle. It is a great honour and testament to all the team here at Cabra Castle to accept this award. What a great start to 2018 it has been!

“We are also very near completing our €1m renovations of our gallery veranda and gardens which will allow for a car-free landscape at the front of the castle.”

The 84 CIE Tours awards - honouring hotels, entertainment venues and tourism destinations -  included 14 Gold Award category winners from around the country.  Elizabeth Crabill, Chief Executive, CIE Tours International told the gathering that 2017 was another excellent year with revenues exceeding €110 million and over 400,000 bed nights booked.

“Our honorees are exemplary contributors to our 94.6% guest satisfaction rate, and they all deserve recognition for the excellent roles they play in welcoming visitors to Ireland and ensuring they have a memorable experience,” said Mc Crabill.
