Ireland has some beautiful beaches and with the summer weather heating up we have some suggestions from our Hotels, on the best places to cool down this summer.

Derrynane Beach is only 30mins from both Parknasilla and Sneem Hotel. With it's clear waters and white sand, Derrynane Beach was the beach of choice for Prince Charles and Camilla who recently visited Kerry on their Royal visit to Ireland. On their trip they were welcomed by Original Irish Hotelier Geraldine Rosney, of Killeen House Hotel who was able to advise them of all the wonders Kerry had to offer.

Sligo is famous for world class surfing and is a popular choice for guests of Markree Castle. At 4km long it's perfect location for a sandy stroll in the sun.

It's also home to the Strandhill Open surfing competition which takes place every August bank holiday weekend, one of the country’s biggest surfing events and draws competitors and spectators from far and wide.

Garryvoe Beach

There has been a hotel on the beach at Garryvoe since the early 1900s and although Garryvoe Hotel may have changed, the golden, sandy, five-mile beach with the view of Ballycotton and its lighthouse, have remained the same.

Another strong contender for the best beach is a neighbour of Garryvoe in East Cork. Claycastle beach, in Youghal Co. Cork will be the location for Ironman 2019!
