On Tuesday 12 June Original Irish Hotels proudly attended the launch of a new festival which will run from 12th - 16th June 2019 in Clifden. The ‘Alcock and Brown 100’ Festival takes place next summer and marks the Centenary of the First Non-Stop Transatlantic Flight in History flown by Captian John Alcock and Lieutenant Arthur Whitten Brown in 1919.

Minister Brendan Griffin formally launched the festival and acknowledged the vision for the festival which will include a full reenactment of the landing of the flight. At the launch the minister spoke of how Clifden inspired him to get his first novel finished, with its breathtaking view it is easy to see how this tranquil area of Ireland can inspire those who visit.

Ryan also commended the wonderful family run Original Irish Hotels that are in the area and how these hoteliers understand how to deliver real Irish hospitality.
