3. Gougane Barra National Forest Park

An area of wild and beautiful scenery, this magnificent Forest Park covers over 137 hectares. It is tucked in a lush valley at the edge of the Sheehy mountains, the ideal place to hike, get in touch with nature, picnic and inhale the fresh air. Steeped in history, there is a tiny island at the edge of the lake at the entrance to the Forest Park where St. Finbarr, patron saint of Cork, founded his early Christian monastery in the 6th century. It is home to the world renowned Gougane Barra Chapel.

4. The Toy Soldier Factory

The only Toy Soldier Factory in Ireland with Europe's Largest Battle of Waterloo Exhibit. Daily Workshops available.

5. Béal na Bláth

A small nearby village is home to the site of the ambush and assassination of Michael Collins.

6. Macroom Castle and Grounds

Macroom Castle ruins, the boyhood home of William Penn, stands on the west square of Macroom. Some parts of the castle are still to be seen in the grounds of the castle demesne, which is a public park, with beautiful riverway walks, situated in the heart of the town. The castle walls with old stone, arches and guns providing an elegant centre for the town.

7. Coachford Aquapark

Munster’s newest, largest and most exciting inflatable water park. Covering over 40m squared of The Lee Valley Harbour on the Innisscarra Dam. You can, jump, slide, bounce and race each other around the wipeout style courses. Try out the first inflatable Catapult in Ireland!

10. The 9 White Deer Brewery Tour

This is a one hour tour for groups over 10 people only. This tour gives you an in-depth account of the local history of Baile Bhuirne, brewing and fermentation processes. At the end of the tour, the guide will hold a questions & answers session to ensure you do not leave with any unanswered questions. This tour includes a tasting of beers and a bottle of beer of your choice on departure.
